Büroetage, Schlesische Straße, Berlin
The historic mill and warehouse building with a view of the Spree River is located at Schlesische Straße 38 in Berlin-Kreuzberg. For Artus Lagerhaus GmbH we took over the lighting design of the new office floor. Interior architect Gisbert Pöppler took over the planning for the redesign of the interior. The lighting concept was developed in close coordination with the interior designer. The aim of the planning was to support the clear architectural design in its reduced formal language through the lighting concept and to give the rooms a light and character.
A central theme of the lighting is profiled luminaires set vertically into the walls to create light-filled corridors. In addition, the light color coordinated with the light blue paint of the walls gives a fresh image. Another special feature is the light sculpture in the corridor leading to the office exit. Here, the light channels fan out over a length of about 18 meters until they end as horizontal light strips at the reception counter.
